Kuala Terengganu: The construction project of the Sultan Zainal Abidin University Teaching Hospital (UniSZA) which cost RM332 million is expected to be completed on October 30, 2021.
Chairman of the Infrastructure, Public Facilities, Utilities and Green Technology Committee, Dr Mamad Puteh said the design and build project had started on March 21, 2016 and was now almost 90 percent complete.
“The capacity of this hospital is 200 beds, complete with modern equipment such as CT Scan, angriogram, mammogram and others.
"The Covid-19 epidemic has increased the use of hospitals, especially the beds and intensive care units (ICU), so with the availability of this hospital facility, it can accommodate the community's grievances against it," he explained.
He said this to reporters after a site visit yesterday afternoon.
He added that there are still some things that need to be improved related to the 'catch up' work, air conditioning and others that need to be completed immediately before the end of October.
Also present at the field, the Director General of Works, Dato 'Ir Mohamad Zulkefly Sulaiman together reviewed the final preparations before the hospital was handed over to its owner.
